A Case of long term management and reversal of Lung Fibrosis at Santulan

Published Categorized as Santulan Experiences

MRS. SURYAKALA SOBHAGAYACHAND SHAH was diagnosed with Lung Fibrosis in January 2003 at the age of 63 years.

The physicians in Kenya told her that lung fibrosis is an irreversible condition and that the best treatment would be to start a course of medicines that would maintain the condition at its current level and not allow it to increase. They were categorical that the condition cannot be reversed. Naturally, this caused some anxiety and the course of medicines began.

Suryakala is a devotee of Satguru Harirambapa and has had the benefit of Satguru’s blessings on a regular basis. Her steadfast faith in Satguru meant that she accepted her condition fully and focussed on how to deal with the situation with equanimity. Her simple lifestyle coupled with regular meditation over the years allowed her not to be stressed with her condition and to the contrary she maintained a very positive attitude to life. She was blessed by her Sat Manima that she will continue to live a normal life and that she will recover fully from her illness.

After she was diagnosed in Kenya, she travelled to India and met doctors who were specialists in the field of lung diseases and more particularly on lung fibrosis. They confirmed that she did suffer from the ailment and that the medication prescribed by the physicians in Kenya was the correct course of treatment. They also confirmed that the condition was irreversible and that through medication the best hope was to maintain the levels of fibrosis and not allow it to deteriorate further.

Mrs Suryakala has been visiting Atmasantulana every year since 1997 and on each occasion underwent the Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment. After she was diagnosed with lung fibrosis, she visited Atmasantulana in February 2003 and met Shreeguru Dr Balaji Tambe who examined her. Dr Balaji confirmed that she did in fact have lung fibrosis but asked her to remain positive and prescribed various ayurvedic medicines for her lungs. He also advised her to continue with the Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatments.

On her return to Nairobi, she continued her routine of meditation, walking every day for an hour from 5.30 am to 6.30 am followed by sitting next to an Ayrushi tree for half an hour. At the same time she ensured that she took her Ayurvedic medicines on time and as prescribed by Dr Tambe.

Remarkably her condition started to improve – a miracle in the eyes of her physician and the doctors.

The recovery continued and in 2006 she was advised by Dr Tambe and by the doctors in Kenya and India that the lung fibrosis had completely reversed. She received a clean bill of health.

Mrs Suryakala is now 83 years old, is healthy, lives a full life and continues to undertake the Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment on a regular basis. She remains devoted to her Satguru and firmly believes that her recovery was as a result of his blessings and from the course of treatments she received from Dr Balaji Tambe for which she is extremely grateful.
