The Purusha Suktam is one of the most important hymns of the Vedas. It talks of the Supreme Consciousness manifested as a Purusha, as our universe and its evolutionary functions. The concept of Yadnya, described in the hymn, applies to all creative phenomena, from the formation of galaxies to the digestion of food. It is the Universal Program that is the step-ladder leading us to the Supreme Consciousness.
The Shrimad Bhagawad Gita is the essence of the Vedas. It describes the same Purusha in its 15th chapter.
Perhaps never before has the world needed the Spiritual Masters more than today – and never have they been so few and far between among us. Our civilization continues to produce mechanical wonders and now aspires to create consciousness in its machines and life in its laboratories. Yet, a cursory look at our ‘human’ quotient tells a woeful tale.
There are few, if any, who can still engage with the mystic, poetry-program language of the Rishis and their Vedic Ruchas. Shreeguru Dr. Balaji Tambe’s discourse incorporates the modern and ancient sciences with ease and clarity.
At first look, the Vedas seem merely to speak glorious praise of the phenomena of Nature in the outside world. But, at deeper levels are embedded the codes that activate capacities in the human being, by simple chanting and singing, for health, prosperity, creation and evolution.
With modern sciences now paying increasing attention to ‘wave’ and ‘field’, ‘quantum’ and ‘mind’, Shreeguru Balaji decided it was time to begin his contribution to the deciphering of the Vedas. His mission is to bring this complex science into common terms so that scientists can enter into more research on the subject and common people may bring these practices into everyday life. He has begun by translating and explaining the Purusha Suktam in his book titled The Untold Secrets of Life.
Shreeguruji’s interpretation is based on the messages he receives on these subjects from within. He offers this personal insight in the form of therapy at individual and social levels in the hope of helping Mankind to reach the Supreme.
Shreeguruji also explains how the Vedas describe methods for the neutralization of environmental pollution with the help of Yadnya. Pollution is a result of growing human population and its increasing demands. These increasing demands are difficult to control and we urgently need alternate ways of dealing with this pollution, which have been suggested in the ancient Vedas. The traditional chanting systems and other rituals have tremendous scientific and therapeutic value that need to be revealed once more and unlocked.
This is not a simple translation, but a functional interpretation, which will lead to an understanding of how the Supreme works in our lives and how these principles can be used to design therapeutic methods for individuals as well as societies, and even our entire natural ecosystem. The purpose is to benefit all of mankind and make all our lives happy – full of health, prosperity satisfaction and luminosity.
